REGIONAL – The Old Farmer’s Almanac has released its extended fall forecast, offering a look at what temperatures and precipitation could look like across the region this autumn.
The Almanac’s forecast for the Ohio Valley, including Indiana, calls for cooler-than-average temperatures early in the season, with drier-than-average conditions possible.
The publication also lists Richmond’s average first fall frost date as Oct. 15.
The first official day of fall for 2026 is Tuesday, Sept. 22.
The Old Farmer’s Almanac, which has published long-range forecasts for more than 200 years, uses its own forecasting methods. Its forecasting method combines solar activity, climate patterns and historical weather trends.
