RICHMOND, Ind. – The Wayne County Area Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Career Exploration Fair Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 for high school students from across Wayne County.

The two-day event will be held at the First Bank Richmond Kuhlman Center and First Bank Richmond Expo Hall, 861 Salisbury Road N., Richmond.

The Sept. 30 session will focus on sophomores, with an emphasis on early exposure to career pathways and internship opportunities.

The Oct. 1 session will focus on juniors and opportunities related to internships and employment.

The Chamber expects 700 to 800 students to attend each day.

Students will begin with career-readiness workshops before visiting the career fair floor, where they can interact with employers, learn about internships and explore career pathways.

Employers participating in the event are required to have a representative attend a virtual Career Exploration Fair training session at 1 p.m. Sept. 17. The training will be conducted through Zoom.

The employer registration deadline is Sept. 11.

Booth registration is free for Chamber members. Registration costs $250 for nonmember nonprofits or businesses with one to 10 full-time employees and $500 for nonmember businesses with 11 or more full-time employees.

The Career Exploration Fair is part of the Chamber's efforts to connect local students with employers and provide students with information about career opportunities in the area. The Chamber describes the event as an opportunity for students to learn about industries, job roles and career paths.
