WAYNE COUNTY, Ind. - The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department is working to help residents who were forced to evacuate and leave animals behind as flooding continues across the area.
Residents who need assistance with animals left at their homes can fill out an online form with their contact information. Officials will use the information to coordinate animal evacuations and work to reunite the animals with their owners.
The sheriff’s department said animal evacuations will begin when conditions are safe for responders and the animals.
Residents who have evacuated are encouraged to provide their contact information so officials can determine where animals may need assistance.
