WAYNE COUNTY, Ind. — Drivers traveling eastbound on Interstate 70 in Wayne County can expect a new traffic pattern this week as construction continues on the Revive I-70 project.
According to the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), traffic on a three-mile stretch of eastbound I-70 between State Road 227 and the Ohio state line will shift to newly constructed pavement closer to the median.
The transition will take place in two phases:
-
Wednesday, October 21: Drivers in the left lane are expected to begin using the new pavement.
-
Friday, October 23: The right lane is expected to shift to the new roadway.
The new traffic configuration is expected to remain in place through spring 2027, allowing construction crews to move their work zone to the outside lanes of the interstate.
