United Way works to support flood victims

WAYNE COUNTY, Ind. - United Way of Whitewater Valley is working with local agencies and nonprofit organizations to assist residents affected by recent flooding in Wayne and Union counties.

Cambridge City, Centerville and Hagerstown are among the communities that have been heavily affected by the storms, according to United Way.

In partnership with Communities in Schools, United Way provided 40 shirts to families displaced by flooding in Cambridge City. The organization also is exploring ways to help Western Wayne Schools replace a school bus that was lost in the floodwaters.

United Way said it is working with local agencies and nonprofit partners to identify residents' most pressing needs and coordinate assistance.

The organization has established a Storm Recovery Fund to help address immediate needs and support long-term recovery efforts in affected communities.

Residents seeking assistance or those looking for ways to help are encouraged to follow United Way of Whitewater Valley on social media for updates and volunteer opportunities.

Donations to the Storm Recovery Fund can be made through United Way of Whitewater Valley.
