RICHMOND, Ind. – The outdoor market season is ending, but Richmond’s Saturday shopping tradition is staying on the calendar. Beginning Nov. 7, the Richmond Farmers Market heads inside the historic Starr Gennett Building for winter.
The indoor market will run from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays at 101 S. First St. through April 24, according to the City of Richmond’s winter season listing.
Before the move, shoppers have one final Saturday at Jack Elstro Plaza. The outdoor season concludes Oct. 31, with market hours from 9 a.m. to noon at 47 N. Sixth St.
The market connects shoppers directly with local growers, food producers and artisans. Its general offerings include seasonal produce, locally raised meats, honey, baked goods, preserves and handmade goods. Weekly selections depend on participating vendors.
Shoppers should note three breaks in the winter schedule: the market will be closed Nov. 28, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.
